More March blocks!

I received my March blocks from Su yesterday. Aren't they amazing! The little origami flowers are so unique, I love them! Thanks Su for all your hard work! I really love these blocks and they were a great start to my first time in the swap!

May Swap

I'm going to Disneyland this weekend, so I thought I would get started on this early. If you did not participate last month, and wish to in May, please send me an e-mail at quiltblockswap@gmail.com. I know there was one person who commented on my last post who wanted to join, but I don't have their contact info.
As always, if you are running late and won't be able to send your April blocks on time, let your partner know.
May swap info should go out on May 1 or 2.

Happy swapping everyone!

MARCH BLOCKS -- BRIGHT 'N BEAUTIFUL

I just received my March blocks from HEATHER, and they are the likes of Spring itself. And she didn't just send me 2 blocks -- she sent me 3!! And she zeroed right in my colors. Love the shades of turquoise (my favorite color these days) and the patterned pieces rock.
I am thinking of making them into a runner for my table. Here they are:

Thank you so much, Heather.

April Swap is finally here!

Hi! My name is Shannon Hillinger, and I am taking over the quilt block swap for Kristin. I have been having so much fun in this swap and I look forward to getting to know everyone much better.
I sent out the April swap partner info today. Sorry that it took so long. If you should have recieved an e-mail and didn't, please e-mail me at quiltblockswap@gmail.com.

I haven't done an introductory post yet, mostly because I forget to take pictures of things I've done before I give them away. I did take pictures of the quilts I made for Project Linus a few years ago. The pictures are here: http://pics.livejournal.com/maydela/gallery/0000621s along with a few other projects. I think my favorite one of that batch was this one.
I really liked the mannequin fabric.

The quilt I really want to finish this year is the one I'm making to commemorate a road trip I took in 2000. I bought fabric in every state we visited, even the ones we just drove through. It's been so long though, that I'm starting to forget what I bought where, so I'd better finish it soon.

Happy quilting everyone!

April Swap

Okay, so I have good news and bad news. First the good news. One of our members, Shannon, has offered to host the swap from here on out! So thanks to her the swap will continue! Thank you Shannon!

The bad news is, I sent her the "here is the database" email, but forgot to attach it, and it's on my external, and I'm out of town until as late as Tuesday. So, the swap is going to be starting up a little late this month, but hopefully everything will be squared away by this Saturday. Hopefully, other than this little mess up this weekend (totally my fault too) you will not notice much difference in the swap on-goings.

Shannon will be posting later this week re-introducing herself to everyone and introducing the April swap as well.

I will still be helping out from time to time, but mainly with getting the word out about the swap and maybe, finally, writing some tutorials for you all.

Oh, and as usual, if you haven't sent out your blocks, please do so asap and let your partner know you are running late.

Have a great month! see you all around! And, of course, happy quilting!

-Kristin
