Thank You Suzanne!

I so completely love these blocks. The colors, patterns, and holy crap look at that embroidery! I think for the other tea bags she may have scanned in tea bags and printed them on fabric or something. Absolutely amazing! I really like the stripiness (is that even a word?) of the other one, the piecing is pretty fabulous.

And if the blocks weren't enough, she sent me goodies too! A great little card by a Portland artist and little beady things. I'm going to use the drop looking one in a necklace I'm making and the other one, which totally reminds me of a dream catcher, is going to decorate something or other somewhere in my bedroom.

Thank you so much!

Blocks for March and May

I am so behind on posting the beautiful blocks I have received that I can no longer remember who sent me which ones for most of them. I think in the future I will take notes so that I can remember better.

These are the blocks Ellen sent me in March. I love the little scissors on the block on the left. It's hard to see in this picture, but the blades of the scissors are gold metallic thread. I was sad because Ellen wanted embroidery on her blocks, and my husband bought me a new embroidery sewing machine right after I had sent out her blocks. It would have been so much fun to play with all the cool designs.

These are the blocks Nanette sent me for May. Because I was out of town for the first couple of weeks of the month, we sent a lot of e-mails back and forth and decided to make each other the same two blocks. Green is my favorite color, so I squealed with glee when I opened the package. The really funny thing though is that I have bought the green fabric in the block on the right, but I no longer have any scraps left because I used it all on quilt projects for other people.

June swap is here!

June swap e-mails have been sent out. If you are currently participating and did not recieve an e-mail, let me know at quiltblockswap@gmail.com. If you are not a current memeber of this swap and would like to be, please send me an e-mail and I will add you for next month.

My lovely husband made me a program for my birthday to help me out with the swap management. I have entered and checked all the information I entered, but if you notice anything I got wrong, please let me know. Hopefully, this will speed up the process of matching people enough that matches can always happen on the 1st of the month.

I would also like to know what you would like to see out of this swap community. I've noticed that since I took over from Kristin, the blog has slowed down quite a bit. I have some specific ideas I am kicking around and will post a more detailed entry in the blog later this month, but for now, please let me know what you would like to see.

If you have not already done so post an introduction at and share a picture of a past quilt and/or
a project you are currently working on.

If you have received your blocks, please post pictures of them and a little thank you. If you cannot post pictures, post a little thank you anyway, maybe with a description or ask your partner if they took pictures before they sent them off and if they could post pictures for you.

If you have any questions/suggestions just send me an e-mail at quiltblockswap@gmail.com
