Emma has a package coming!

Hi Emma -

I mailed your block, or should I say blocks! You got not only the pink 9-patch, but also a Christmas block. I was just having so much fun and was only going to send you some Christmas fabric for your next masterpiece with the 9-patch, but then I started pulling fabric and the next thing I knew, I had another block for you. I hope you like them.

My poor mom was getting ready to leave Sedona to go back to Seattle and had a freak incident. She has a mobile home in Sedona that she snowbirds in and she had JUST gone inside (like 15 seconds) and the entire canopy over the deck collapsed! There was a microburst (like a very mini tornado) and it lifted the canopy about 10 feet in the air and moved it back 9 ft. She was so lucky! At 87, she doesn't like a lot of excitement... :-) Sorry that I didn't mail it sooner, but I had to get her taken care of. Then of course we had graduation at the high school I work for. Phew - now I just have a Trustees meeting and reunion weekend to look forward to. ;-)

Best to everyone - Dana

Block Swaps

This is the block I received from Judy for the March swap. Apologies for posting the same picture, but it's such a great block. I really love it - thank you Judy! (And thanks for the yummy chocolate as well!) :o)

My partner for the April swap was Susan. I've finished the block, but can't send it out yet as I don't have her full address. I've tried emailing, but haven't managed to get in touch. If you read this Susan, please email me so I can send your block out to you!

School Days

I finished Amanda's "school block" last night and just sent it out in the mail. Since I took a photo for my project book, thought I'd share it with y'all.
What a blast it is to make these for others. Happy spring, everyone!

Another New Swapper

Hi! My name is Cori and I am new to the swap this month. I began quilting 8 years ago. I facilitate our church's bi-annual quilting retreat and found this blog while I was looking for ideas for a block swap. I am very excited to be a part of this swap. I hope to find some blocks that I might not usually sew in fear of taking on more than I can chew, this way I can create one block for my swap partner to see how it works out.

I have two boys and I work full time for the Walt Disney Company. I quilt as a way to relax. I also have a few of my own blogs. On my main one it is just a place for me to brag of about my boys, but I do put quilts on there occaionally.

Here is a quilt I did last year (ignore the date). It is one of my favorite quilts and it went to a dear friend of mine.

I look forward to making many of you a quilt block and I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

I'm a newbie to your group

Hello and thanks for allowing me to join in the fun. I'm new for May, but have been a quilter for over 20 years (yikes, I just did the math and it's closer to 25). I started quilting as a way to relieve stress with my girlfriend in California and we've been hooked ever since. I started with very traditional patterns, but I've recently just let loose and I'm exploring color without worrying about points or curves. It's really fun. I had an internet round robin group that was going strong for 5 years, but we lost a few during moves and now our Crazy Eights group is gone. I miss the fun and sharing what we were working on. I'll post a pic soon of the last round robin we did, plus one I have actually quilted from the first one we did.

I live and work in Sedona Arizona, almost mid-state in Arizona. We have one quilt shop in town (no place to buy underwear, but we do have a quilt shop!) and I work for a boarding high school. School's ready to be let out in a few weeks and then I can have some time to get in trouble over the summer.

I really look forward to learning more about everyone and seeing what you're working on.

My very best - Dana
