This is the BEAUTIFUL block Kristen made for me in December plus all the awesome goodies she sent. There were buttons too but they were on the edge and didn't make it in the shot.

Just joined
I'm excited to get started on this quilt block swap. I've been quilting for about 6 years now, here in San Diego, California. Handquilting a hand pieced Grandmother's fan for the last 4 years (To finish this month...hopefully...will definitely post pictures when I do). Big story associated with that project...will include with the pictures.
One of my first hints that quilting was for me, was the Pinwheel Star in "The Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns". Over 1500 different fabrics where used to make the charm quilt pictured in the pattern. That fascinated me. So, after years of collecting squares, my mom did most of the collecting, she cut all the squares into half square triangles, gave me half and kept the other half. Naturally in the years it took to finally acquire all of the charms needed, several other projects grabbed me. I haven't pieced the Pinwheel Star yet.
"The Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns" is my 'go to' book. I'll never need another quilt book, though I have hundreds. :) I also have EQ6 quilt program. I highly recommend it for those who'd rather use up their space for their fabric instead of patterns and books. Also a great way to get the 'tech-y' in your life a little more interested in the art of quilting.
I'm thrilled to have finally found a quilt block swap. My most recent desire is having a very unique, scrap quilt in all blues. I think having one with contributions from many different artists would be the best kind.

Good evening---this is my first time to join a block swap and my first time to
post anything anywhere---I have always been content to just read comments.
I have been in contack with my swap person for this month and hers is on its way to me and mine is on its way to her---getting excited to see what I get.
I would like ideas as to what others do with their blocks?

December Block...
Happy New Year to all the Block Swap Swappers!!! This will be my second year participating in Blockswap and I feel so fortunate to have received such wonderful blocks from all over the world. This block is from Evelyne in Belgium! It is hand-pieced also!!I have received all of my blocks for the year and now have enough to complete my Civil War Sampler Quilt. Of course, it may take a few months to get it together... but I will post a picture when it is completed.
I have changed my color theme for 2009, so I will have a whole new quilt for the upcoming year.
Thanks to Sandi for being a great host!!

I am new, too!
Hi everybody! My name is Amanda and I am from Edmonton, AB. I am currently a student at a tech school here, and I love every minute of it. I started quilting I think when I was 10, and knitting when I started University. It is really cold here right now, so one has to do these sorts of crafts to keep oneself warm!!! Here are some pics of quilts I am currently working on!
