Check this out...so many skills! And the 3D cntred teapot in the centre has been very carefully designed and embroidered...corner cups embroidered. I received an envelope in the mail yesterday with this block. It was from Jen in Pennsylvania and I love it. My preference was black and white with a bright accent. And Jen met this requirement very well.

This block is going to fit in perfectly with a sampler project I've pulled out of my UFOs that is all black/white/red. Can't wait to add it into that quilt top.

I am so sorry I am late in sending my last two blocks out. But, they are now in the mail. I to do not like sending my blocks out unless I have heard from my partner. Life does get in the way frequently and it can be unkind. Try to have some understanding, however it does get frustrating to not get an email or worst yet your block. I have been in the middle of moving and half of my things are at the old house and half at the new house. So....To my last 2 partners, I am so sorry I am late, but they are in the mail to you. Well, I got my first partner, and tried a few different types of log cabin blocks. After much trial and error, I decided to go bright and basic. I hope that Jen is happy with it. I haven't gotten much feedback about what it is we are doing? This is my first swap, and would love to know that all is well? Yup you read that right, I just sent my December block. & the excuses I have are true & reasonable but I'm still a deadbeat. We were away when my block from Donna arrived but I held off opening the envelope until I put hers in the mail. Without further ado-the block I got from Donna a month or so ago:

I love it. Blue & yellow, a favorite & a basket which was the block I most wanted. What impresses me with all that I have received so far is how complex they are. When I suggested basket I was thinking of one along the lines of those 1/2-square triangles with an added border for the handle. I never expected the beauties I have been getting.

I made the block for her and mailed it out even though I could never get a response from her. I never received a block from her. October was my first month with the swap & boy did I hit the jackpot! Sara sent not one but two blocks, in a colorway that met both of my either/or choices (I know, right?) & one of the blocks was even the exact style block I said was my favorite but honestly thought never to get. I feel like I hit a trifecta.

My colors were blue & yellow or anything mild & blended a la tone-on-tone type stuff. I like all kinds of blocks, but my most especial favorite is basket blocks. Then for extra, she included a second pieced block in the same fabrics.

The downside is there s no way she is going to like what I sent as much as I love these!

my name is crafty pug and i am so excited to be joining this swap! i found my way here through the other Aussie girls on Sue's block swap, so can't wait to be involved here too.
I live in Adelaide, South Australia and am married to a lovely bloke and mother to a crazy, energetic, funny, gorgeous toddler son.

Howdi from Texas ya'll! My name is Lana and I should have posted this last month, but have been busy with work and summer! I am a mom to five young adult children and am married to my sweet hubby Bill. Together we have two labs and a little bunny named Cotton Patch and we are madly in love with them all...and the children too, of course!
I live in Sugar Land Texas, just minutes outside of Houston.

I am very excited to be a part of the swap and am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

My favorite color is apple green paired with anything else! I love the modern quilting, but love the traditional blocks as well...

Hi there, Cathy from Australia here. This beautiful block has arrived from Debbie in Canada. It has been very wet and cold here in Adelaide - it is raining as I type this - the rain is coming down at such an angle, it is hitting the windows.

A lovely block, in black, white and red. The white squares are a beautiful white on white material - it does not show up very well in the photo.

My name is Linden; I'm a thirty-something Christian Sydney girl, now living in Canberra, Australia. I've been married for 5½ years, and I have a nine month old son. I've been quilting for about 13 years and knitting and cross stitching for forever! I also enjoy tapestry but haven't done any for quite some time.
Shamefully, I don't have any recent finished projects to show at the moment. I do have a blog though - I'm hoping it will keep me a bit more accountable in finishing projects if I know folk will be watching....

Hi everyone!

I have just joined your wonderful group and Sandi suggested I write a few words about myself by way of introduction.

I am 49 years old (rapidly approaching the BIG one in October), married for 28 years to my best friend, Ian. I am currently 'in between jobs' but I am really enjoying my time at home. Since being at home, I have discovered quilting - it is something I have always wanted to try and am very glad I took the plunge.

I have participated in a few block swaps here in Australia, which I have enjoyed very much. I thought it was about time I ventured out into the 'international' swap world, so here I am.

Blocks and a Belated Hello

I should have posted an introduction a month ago. :)

Hi, I'm Kiza. I'm in Texas, living near Houston with my husband and our two year old son. We're expecting a daughter this summer. We're due the first week of August if she decides to stay put, but it's looking like she's going to make an early appearance.

I've been sewing pretty much my entire life. My mother grew up sewing her own clothes and my grandmother worked professionally as a seamstress and dressmaker for a number of years. I found their creations very intimidating, so learned to sew but didn't do much with it until I was an adult myself. That's when I discovered theatre and costume design and figured out what it was that I was supposed to be doing with myself. :)

Most of that part of my life was put on hold when I had my son - but that's perfectly fine by me. :) I've been discovering new ways of meeting my creative needs. I've been interested in quilting for a number of years but have just come to it recently - and I think it's safe to say that I'm completely hooked. :)

I'm pretty bad at introductions, but you can check out my blog if you'd like to know more about me or see some of the other things I'm interested in and have been working on.

This is a terrible photo (the colors went a little crazy) of the block I sent to Sandi for April.

And here's the fun block that she sent to me.

My son has completely fallen in love with it, so I think it might actually turn into a pillow for him. :) Or perhaps the centerpiece of a play quilt for him. Haven't decided yet...

I've finished a block for Virginia, but it looks like it's not common to post a sneak peek? So I guess I'll hang on to that photo for now.

I realize this is a different sort of post but I'm just throwing it out here for anyone who might be interested. I received an email from a person requesting quilt blocks. Don't know anything about the request or the person beyond what was sent to me. Jen asked for a something with batiks and log cabin pattern. I made this wonky log cabin with a hand pieced cathedral windows in the center. I hope she liked it, I love how it turned out! (Im in love with hand applique and cathedral windows at the moment...)

Here are three beautiful blocks I have received within the last couple of months. They are stunning!! They will make a great addition to my quilt. The batik birds will go into a different quilt. I think that this may finish it up, i'm excited to lay out all the blocks. (Im still waiting on one block from England.)

The teal/red/bird blocks are from Alicia, and the batik is from Jen. They are so fantastic!! I love getting squishies from this group, you are all so talented!

Keep those pictures coming ladies, I love seeing what everyone makes! I definitely have a wish list, lol.
